Paris Olympics Games closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics was held on 11 August 2024 in the Stade de France in Paris. The official closing ceremony was quite an enthusiastic and colourful one with fireworks, concerts, and a special appearance by Hollywood celebrity Tom Cruise.
At the end of 329 events in total, approximately 9,000 athletes and teams came to the stadium for the closing ceremony of the Games. The wedding took two hours long and included artists such as American singers H. E. R., Snoop Dogg British singer Billie Eilish and French artists. It was even filled with more than seventy thousand people all clapping and singing as if they were spectators to a show.

The United States of America performed exceptionally and was the overall winner with 126 medals, of which 40 were gold. Among the performers, there were 22 individual champions; one of them was gymnast Simone Biles, who personally claimed three gold medals. The closing ceremony was choreographed by Thomas Jolly, he indeed came up with a tighter event to bring the Games to a successful conclusion. The start of the show was dedicated to the host city Paris and the French singer Zaho de Sagazan sang the famous French song ‘Sous le ciel de Paris’/ ‘Under the Sky of Paris’.
At the ceremony of the raising of the flags of the participating 205 countries, the flag bearers marched into the stadium. On one side of the hall they assembled on a stage in the centre, cheering, with flags, happy and taking pictures with each other for. This is an identifier that elated the athletes from all over the world as they were joined by other colleagues and friends to celebrate.

The journey was narrated by legendary American athletes, including mountain biker Kate Courtney and track and field gold medallist Michael Johnson.

The ceremony then moved to a fun and lively music segment, led by Southern California music icon Snoop Dogg. He was joined by other famous artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dr. Dre, creating a festive atmosphere reminiscent of a beach party in Los Angeles.
India, which was represented by 117 athletes, including 47 women, had two-time Olympic medallists PR Sreejesh (hockey) and Manu Bhaker (shooting) as the flag bearers during the Parade of Nations. The Indian team concluded their campaign with six medals. Manu Bhaker secured two bronze medals—one in the women’s 10m air pistol event and another in the 10m air pistol mixed team event alongside Sarabjot Singh.
As the ceremony came to a close, the Olympic flame was extinguished, marking the end of the Paris 2024 Games. The night was a mix of emotions celebration for the successes achieved, and a touch of sadness as the Games came to an end. The focus now shifts to Los Angeles, where the world will gather again in 2028 for the next chapter of the Olympic story.
