In a Trump Musk Interview, Elon Musk’s recent talk with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on the billionaire’s platform X has been interrupted by a technical hitch. The discussion when Mr Musk asked polite questions on immigration and inflation began more than 40 minutes behind schedule, as many users complained they could not get into the live stream.
While the program was presented as an interview, Trump never provided any facts that could be checked while making multiple unsubstantiated statements. Mr Musk stood by Trump who is in a fresh battle against the Democratic contender, Kamala Harris, in the upcoming polls in November. Musk blamed the technical issues on a cyber-attack but one expert opined to the Hubsmate360 that it was improbable.
Trump Musk Interview
The discussion on X took place at the time when Trump, the ex-president and the nominee of the Republican Party, tries to reanimate his bid for the presidency. After the decision of President Joe Biden to step down, the race for the White House has been boosted with the entry of Ms Harris. At the same time the author identifies Musk as a growing political power in the world.
Recently musk has engaged in a new political committee which supports Trump’s campaign. “America is at a crossroads, and you are the way to prosperity, but I think Kamala is the opposite,” Mr Musk told him during one of the interactions.
The two men discussed various issues, ranging from the assassination attempt on Trump last month at a Pennsylvania rally to his desire for the US to acquire an “Iron Dome” missile defence system similar to Israel’s, as well as immigration, a central theme of his campaign. Trump also speculated about dismantling the federal Department of Education and transferring that responsibility to the states as one of his first actions if he wins the November election.

The relationship between Mr Musk and Trump has evolved over the years, with the two having previously exchanged online jabs. However, Monday’s conversation was notably friendly, with both men offering each other considerable praise. Trump, who has been sceptical of electric vehicles and once pledged to roll back federal subsidies, commended Tesla, the car-maker owned by Mr Musk. He recently stated that he had “no choice” but to support electric vehicles due to Musk’s endorsement and described the Tesla product as “great” during Monday’s discussion.
Many listeners noticed a change in Trump’s voice, which appeared to have a lisp, though a spokesman for the Trump campaign claimed it was no different from usual.
However, the Musk-Trump conversation began on a less than positive note. As numerous users had difficulty accessing the livestream, Mr Musk blamed the issues on “a massive DDoS attack on X” in a post. Distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks are attempts to overwhelm a website, making it difficult to use or inaccessible.
What is DDoS Attack
A DDoS attack occurs when a lot of signals are sent to an online target with the intention of causing its dysfunction, according to Lim Anthony, Director of the Centre for Strategic Cyberspace and International Studies in Singapore in an interview. “It is improbable it could impact only one single service or feature on that website orwebpage.” Mr Lim opined that numerous people who attempted to listen must have caused the system to freeze only for a while. Nonetheless, Andrew Hay from IT firm Damovo reported that the issues could well be attributed to a cyber-incursion.
The glitchy start was reminiscent of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ entry into the White House race in May 2023, also held on X, where the livestream experienced similar malfunctions.
Monday was to a certain extent a comeback of X/Twitter for Trump that has been banned on the platform shortly after the January 6 Capitol attack. Aside from a flurry of campaign advertisements on Trump’s account on Monday, he had only posted once—a mug shot and a link to his campaign site—a year ago after Mr Musk reinstated his X account in 2022. It remains uncertain whether Trump, who frequently posts on his Truth Social site, will continue to post more regularly on X.
